MISSION STATEMENT
My Staff and I are here to assist you, to the best of our ability and within the scope of our authority, in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner with your District Court business.
OFFICIAL DUTIES
The Clerk of District Court is responsible for maintaining and preserving the records of all cases filed in Goshen County District Court. Our duties include processing of cases, including the filing of all documents and preserving files, collecting and distributing all court ordered payments (including child support payments), administration of appeals from this Court to the Supreme Court as well as accepting appeals from lower courts and administrative office decisions to this Court, maintaining a juror list and the preparation for and monitoring of all District Court jury trials. This office also serves as an Authorized Passport Agency for Seattle Passport Services in that we execute and witness all new applications and forward those applications to the issuing office.
Our cases consist of Civil (divorces and modifications, paternity and child support enforcements, and name changes); Contract disputes, personal injury, judgments, torts, etc. with a monetary amount exceeding $50,000; Criminal Felony Cases; Adoptions; Probate matters such as Estates, conservatorships, guardianships; Involuntary Commitments; and Juvenile Cases (neglect and abuse, delinquent and Children in Need of Supervision (CHINS). JUVENILE RECORDS are confidential by State Law and this office cannot disclose that a juvenile case exists or provide anyone with information regarding these cases.
